Mushroom Hike

Join E.J.Dwigans, Educational Ranger at Holmes Educational State Forest for a mushroom hike through the forest on August 26, 2025 from 10 AM - Noon.  

As usual for a summer hike in the forest we recommend sturdy footwear, a hat, insect repellent and water. 

To enhance the experience, we recommend you bring a field guide and hand lens/magnifier.  Suggested field guides consist of:  "A Field Guide to Mushrooms of the Carolinas" or 'National Audubon Society, Field Guide to Mushrooms."
