In the years just before the Civil War, landowner Micajah S. Thomas built a stagecoach inn and established a post office in the area now known as the DuPont State Recreational Forest. The lives of this early settler and his family will be the focus of a hike to the Thomas Cemetery on Nov. 10th. Information about other families, farms and activities in this community will also be shared. The moderate round trip hike is approximately 3.5 miles.
We will meet at the Guion Farm parking lot at 10 am.
Thank you to our hike leaders and resident history gurus - Charles Burden, Doug Pace and Patty Stahl.
