DuPont Forest - Trail Crew Work Day - Feb 2nd 2019

Please note that we will not be cleaning drains as originally proposed in order to clean up the tree falls and encroaching trees and shrubs from several trails.   See below. 

Due to a conflict on the 2nd Saturday the work day was changed to the 1st Saturday in February. 

Assembly Location:  High Falls Access Parking Lot off of Staton Rd.  This lot is also the location of the DuPont Forest Visitor Center. 

Assembly Time:  8:45 AM

Work Location:  Shoals Trail  & Laurel Ridge Trail.

 Cascade Trail and Hooker Creek Trail.  

 We will car pool to the closest parking to the work areas. 

Work Activity:  Clear Trail Corridor.   Cut and remove downed trees.  Cut down and remove leaning rhodos, white pines and mountain laurel. 

Tools: A limited number of lopers and pruning saws will be provided.  Please bring lopers and pruning saws if you have them.  

Bring: Water. Work Gloves. 

Wear: Heavy boots. 

Everyone is invited.  No experience required.  You do not have to be member of Friends Of DuPont Forest (FODF) to participate.
